🏅 Ford Mondeo Dpf Pressure Sensor Location
The 6.7 Cummins engine features various sensors that play a crucial role in its performance and efficiency. Some key sensor locations include the Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) sensors located in the exhaust system, the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor found near the crankshaft, The Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor is located on the engine block
When your diesel-powered vehicle experience a malfunction in the “A” designation of the electrical circuit of a diesel particulate filter (DPF) pressure sensor, the trouble codes shown by the Powertrain control module (PCM) will indicate towards different issues depending upon the trouble codes but all codes will have the problem with a

EGT3 is the one you will want to watch for the regen. This is the post DPF temp probe. EGT2 is post DOC, and EGT1 is pre DOC. Normal driving, EGT3 will reach around 500-800F. You will know the system is in regen with temps up around 1060F. It is very clear when the regen process is going!
Ford, in their infinite wisdom (?) seem to have changed from using a DP sensor with two hoses to the DPF, to a pressure sensor with just one hose. I can only guess that it is a gauge pressure sensor, and they are assuming the outlet pressure of the DPF is near atmospheric pressure, just a bit of back pressure from the muffler & pipe, that can
Like any sensor they can go faulty and flag up a false warning. The fact the light has gone out and can be cancelled probably means its OK and the DPF has regenerated. Being electronic they are normally mounted some distance away from the hot exhaust but their location can be found by tracing back the two tubes that lead from the DPF.
Ford Mondeo IV Highly Prone to Damage. First Line is raising awareness in the aftermarket that the diesel particulate filter (DPF) pressure hoses fitted on the Ford Mondeo IV and its derivatives are prone to premature failure, so technicians should check their condition whenever they undertake work on these applications.
I imagine it's in the same place as minelooking from the front, it's mounted on the firewall/bulkhead behind the engine on the right side about 20cm down from the top of the engine (from memory) Mondeo 2.2 TDCI Titanium X Sport (2011 MK4.5), Panther Black | S-Max 2.5T front brake calipers and 316mm discs | Fuel Log.
The water vapor in the exhaust flow being acidic over time damages the seal on the Piezoelectric Pressure Transducer which affects the ability of it reading correct pressure. The transducer measures the pressure difference between both sides (Upstream = Exhaust and Downstream = Intake) of it and converts it to a voltage.

What Does Code P2454 Mean? OBD II fault code P2454 is a generic code that is defined as “Diesel Particulate Filter Pressure Sensor “A” Circuit Low”, and is set on diesel vehicles when the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) detects an abnormally low voltage in the control and/or signal circuits of the Diesel Particulate Filter Pressure
One of the DPF sensors on the front section of the exhaust could quite easily have been damaged or come adrift when the rest of the exhaust was changed. I'm not familiar with that engine but there should be a pressure sensor on either side of the DPF (metal tubes leading to the actual sensors) and some electrical temperature sensors.
Hey all, after some advice for my 2010 MK4 Mondeo 2.0l diesel. Got a 'diesel filter overloaded' fault come up so changed dpf pressure hoses as thought they were split (had the same issue 5 years ago which changing the hoses fixed problem). Still come up with same fault, put dpf cleaner in fuel and ended up burning a hole in dpf.
